12 Erg and Body Weight Workouts
As much as we all love our Concept2 equipment, sometimes we want to mix in other movements. Concept2 employees wrote up a few of their favorite body weight workouts—no other equipment needed besides your favorite Concept2 machine. Some of these workouts may list a specific erg as the ideal one for that workout, but any of them—a RowErg, SkiErg or BikeErg—can be substituted or combined for any of the workouts below. The SkiErg technique that we teach is based on the traditional sport of Nordic skiing. It is time-tested technique that has propelled skiers very effectively on snow. The beauty of the SkiErg is that it allows for a range of technical variations that can still be safe and effective depending on your goals and what works best for you.
Rowing is a “leg sport," working the quadriceps, glutes, hamstrings and calves. Runners can benefit by incorporating more rowing into their training.
